Very strong sounding grasshopper. When i rode home from work at 11 a. M. I heard a strong sounding grasshopper in a neighbor's busch i run into my house and picked up my recorder and mic and run out tried coming closest possible for good sound, but it was a little too close because the hopper become silent. But this is recorded before that :). Eqipment used;recorder zoom h4n promicrophone sennheiser shotgun mke 600rycote classic-softie windscreensoftware wavelab.

Sound recorded near the wood stack in my aunt's stone barn. Reverb due to a 130cm 600l metal basin reverberating near by. Recorded from inside the garage on a very quiet night. First is the sound of it opening, second is of it closing. No processing other than normalization. 16bit/44. 1k. Metal tea can lid attracted and caught by a neodymium magnet. Thuds and clicks of the small metal object hitting the magnet attached to a plastic frame. Sound of the computer fans in the background. I recorded a viola for a theatre project. I recorded it in a dry room, close mic with a neumann tlm103. Some samples are just noises of the bow on the c or d string, then once in a while creating overtones, other samples contain some processing with echoboy by soundtoys. Amazing plugins they make!. Recorded from fairly close to the action with a zoom h3 using the standard microphone. Spoken voices are from the instructor and a group of elderly orienteering runners who blundered into the middle of the battle. Weapons mostly 5. 56mm sa80 rifles and 7. 62 gpmg. Note the crescendo of firing as the assault goes in.

Fireball explosion with natural rolling decay and delayed single reflection. The pyrotechnic explosion took place in the forest at el tejon ranch in late march 2013 during a film shoot. The sound was recorded using a schoeps mk41 supercardioid condenser microphone running into a sound devices 442/722 mixer/recorder combo. I cleaned up extraneous background noise using pro tools and izotope rx. Enjoy!.

Zoom h4n - onboard microphones. This recording was captured in the city of orange in orange county, california. This is located just below los angeles and less than a mile from disneyland in anaheim. This is an extremely clean recording of a sudden cloudburst that turned in to a torrential downpour on december 28, 2020. The peaks are all very close to 0db. I opened the sliding glass door to our balcony and placed my zoom h4n as close as possible to the rain without destroying the recorder. What resulted is an amazingly layered rain track. This is because rain can be heard striking multiple surfaces such as a tree, a metal table, the cement balcony, etc. . . There is not much thunder (that's rare in this area) but if you need a few dramatic thunder claps they can be found at the following times one the file is downloaded. An old hard drive booting up and being shut off with a very noisy fan. I recorded it very close to the source. Could be used for rickety spacecraft or diy science project sounds.

24 bit 44100 khz sound recorded with zoom h6. The area is very close to the magical small village of krippen, germany. The river flows undisturbed - at some point though you can hear a car passing by. Its tires interact with the wet asphalt creating yet another interesting sound effect.

Recorded this from my 2nd floor balcony in lisbon, portugal. It closely overlooked a small street in which restaurants had set up outside dining. Many people were out this evening, eating, talking and laughing.

Going outside to check the mail. I go out the inner door and close it, you can hear the weather stripping dragging the floor, then go out the outer door onto the porch. I go over and check the neighbor's mail to take up to her later, then check our own, then go back into the apartment where you can hear the tv. I got caught in a freak rainstorm whilst hiking a bit ago, but luckily had packed my h6 in my bag and was able to get some good little rain snippets! there's some super close sounding droplets hitting leaves, some wider pouring rain, and a bit of hand-held noise unfortunately, but i figured there's a little something for everyone here!. One of my brothers came by spontaneously to say hello and he slammed the door behind him hahah. It was non-aggressive of course, the door is heavy and has to be slammed in order for it to be properly closed !. Little did my bro know that i was recording and that i managed to catch the door slam !. The house was dark, empty and quiet - he wondered wtf was going on lol. It sounds a bit distant, it's because i was in the bedroom and not in the entrance. This sound is natural too, which is perfect. Planted my iphone 6 right at the opening of a garage during some pretty heavy rain. Includes broad rain sounds, some close drips, some distant cars and an occasional bird noise. Pretty multi-purpose i'd imagine. Have fun with it. Or don't. I don't own you.

Our expresso machine making a latte. You can hear it start up, fill the mug, as well as the milk whipping part of it softly run in the background. There’s probably some background noise to this because i was making breakfast. It can get pretty loud i was recording up close.

A close up recording of an overheating usb slot-loading cd/dvd drive that repeatedly tries to spin up, but fails and makes some clicking noises. Note on low frequency sounds: i recorded this with a zoom h1n recorder at about 2cm distance from the drive slot. I held the recorder in my hand and rested my hand on the surface the cd drive was resting on, so there is somewhat of a mechanical connection between the drive's vibrations and the recorder. I believe this led to the low frequency parts of the recording. About halfway through the recording, i lifted the drive up with my other hand and held it at a 30degree angle to the surface and recorder. As you can hear in the recording, this made it spin up a little longer before failing and spinning back down.

Tokyo outdoor night ambience. This is a recording of the shinagawa area of tokyo after 1:00 am. Crickets can be heard chirping in the distance, as can cars on a usually busy road. The trainstation is closed, but there is still some activity that can be heard as well as wind and other night ambient sounds. Recording was made on the 6th floor of a highrise apartment behind shinagawa station. 2 mics placed at a 120 degree angle were used. No filtering was used. The only editing done was removal of the beginning and end of this clip.

Over 6 hours of night ambient shot in the countryside near a house close to the main road. Rain hitting the vines, thunders, village sounds, crickets, occasional cars passing on the road, far thunders with no rain, dogs barking, roosters, all in one unedited take. This was recorded with the mobile phone (allview e2 living) with the "voice recorder" app at maximum quality settings so do expect a lower quality. You are free to use this sound as you wish.

20 minutes field recording of eveningsounds in my backyard in belgium, springtime in 2021. At first a few chickens wander close to the microphone, your hear doves and a lot of blackbirds singing to each other. After a few minutes the chickens prepare for the night. At about 14:00 a goose flight is passing by, in the end you hear a distant plane passing and a train. Recording in stereo with a zoom h4n pro and windshield, mildly processed afterwards.

A rumble of thunder from a storm over 50 miles away over the irish sea from an mcs during july 2016. The atmospheric conditions of that night, along with the lack of other noise allowed sounds to be heard much further than they normally would. The main reason was likely due to a strong temperature inversion close to the ground. Recorded with zoom h4n onboard mics.

I used some compression and a bit of eq to make it sound like something you'll hear on a gaming console machine. However, the audio spikes from the high freq took me a while to cut off. Can't figure out why it does that but in my opinion it still sounds good :).

For a production of the play ripcord a performer goes off stage to fill a watering can. Once with the door left open, and once with the door closed. So i made a couple of recordings, and play the sound as long as needed.

Kittens: the screeching of 3 week old kittens is very distinct. Real kittens can be heard here. It is high-pitched and a “close-up” of these sounds coming from these tiny creatures. By overlapping some of the screeching it creates the illusion of more kittens. A slight purr can be heard which comes from the mother. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg.

I recorded the fan on quite loud and i opened and closed the cd drive on my hp eletebook 8460p, different laptop models have a different frequency from the fan and different cd drives make a different sound when checking it. Recorded from the internal microphone.

Opening a sliding door to a lot of chatty morning birds. You can hear a some fire truck sirens far in the background. After a few minutes, door is closed, i let you hear the difference, and we’re done. Recorded with a tascam dr-05 at about 5 am. Converted to mp3 with command “lame --preset extreme” since it’s rather huge. Not normalized; lame reports a playback gain of +21 db.

I recorded this using my small sony cybershot camera. You'll notice that the wind goes from loud to soft to loud again, repeating. This because i am opening the window wide and then after a few seconds i close the window but not completely so that i get some low whistling sounds from the wind. I recorded for 18 minutes and i used audacity to edit it. Hope this sound is useful for you!.
